BEYOND THE RAINBOW
Please keep Pastor Spike and Lindy in your prayers. They have lost their beloved dog, Samson.
BEYOND THE RAINBOW
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful - lush and green and wide
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be.
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright glow pierced the night.
"Twas the glow of many candles, shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in it's brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be
We are still connected by a cord no one can see
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

Habitat for Humanity
The Day of Prayer was begun in 1983 to make housing a matter of conscience. The intent was to place in the hearts, minds and souls of people everywhere the idea that poverty housing is unacceptable. The New Testament passage from 1 John 3:17 teaches that we must respond to those in need. Prayers are answered when families and communities grow in the shelter of God’s grace. The hurdles of funding and building homes are overcome through the miracles of prayer.
The mission of Sea Island Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness West of the Ashley River and the surrounding sea islands, and to make decent housing a matter of conscience in our community. For more information about how you can help Habitat in our community, contact Christa Lewis:

Pearl For A Day!
Pearl Jones did not suspect the "real" plan. What was funny was that,
this week she was shown so much extra appreciation that she thought
something "not so good" was happening.
Pastor Spike had mailed a letter out to each home
requesting that we all do things to honor Pearl this week and we did!
This accounts for this half of the church sign. Click to see it in large size!
and for the great strides that our church is making in Christian education.
As indicated earlier, the youth met on Labor Day and did the work
of digging the garden and getting it ready for plants and garden stones.
Pastor Spike Coleman dedicates the new garden to Pearl in the pictures below.
After the dedication it was more
Fellowship before people began to leave for home.
Close up of the special garden stone, in place, in the garden.
Now the name of this post is "pearl for a day,"
but in reality, Pearl Jones is a true diamond studded pearl
each and everyday!
She shares her talents and brings and imparts
the spirit of God in all that she does.
So this sign in front of her garden says it all!
Thanks Pearl, for all that you do!

Rally Day Highlights
Communications created "bloggie" who was committed to taking in all
information with all 5 senses just as God created us to do.
Presbyterian Women were interviewed by our very own "Katie C." in
regards to the things they did throughout the year
Finance and Stewardship reminded us that it was possible
to have too much money and to give it to the church!
Administrative and Personnel reminded us of what a great
place St. Andrew's is to work
Evangelism and Fellowship reminds us that it is about bringing people in
and following up when they are ill.
Mission reminds us that there is lots of
work to do in our very own community!
Worship reminded us of the meaning and
importance of the sacraments
Building and Grounds reminded usof all the work that
will be done right at St. Andrew's in the very near future
Christian Education reminds us that we needed
to be attending Bible study..we needed to be there or be square!
After worship we have a great Labor Day dinner
in the Fellowship Hall.
Every team needs more members so now is the time to jump on board! Everyone is welcome.
