Lent Family Gathering: The Wilderness

Last Wednesday at the Lent Family Gathering, we explored what "wilderness" meant. We talked about the sort of animals, foliage, food and settings we thought Jesus and the would have been exposed to in the wilderness or what we would experience in the wilderness.

In addition, we had crafts. We worked on decorating banners in various degrees of completion. Some made handmade journals for Lent. These were for the "not so crafty" crowd! It was great fun by all. We learned much and had a chance to explore our creative sides.

Lent Family Gathering: Soldier Boxes

Kid's Club participants led everyone in preparing cards, prayer books and letters of encouragement for the Soldier's Boxes. It was a night of creativity led by the children. We made cards, pictures and prayer books. Take a peek at some of the festivities!

Lent Family Gatherings

We will have a Lent Family Gathering this evening at the church. Dinner begins at 5:30pm and bible study will begin at 6:15. Last week Kid's Club participants led in preparing cards, prayer books and letters of encouragement for the Soldier's Boxes. Thank you to all who participated. This week's theme is COVENANT. In its most general sense, is a solemn and bilateral promise to do or not do something specific. In all cases, a covenant may be contrasted with a contract in that a covenant, unlike a contract, always has a moral dimension integral to its solemnity.

What does it mean for us to enter into a covenant with God during Lent? We will move from the wilderness to the first clearing. As you make your plans for the week, prayerfully consider joining us on any Wednesday night for food, fellowship and Bible Study. If you need transportation please call the church office and we will be happy to help with that. Everyone is welcome! Invite a friend! If you have any questions, please contact Angie Bailey, Speed Massenburg or Pearl Jones.

Help Fix Up The Youth House

The Youth House is in need of some fixing up. A list of jobs that need to be done is below. An identical list has been posted on Ms. Pearl's office door that includes a place to sign up and a place for us to put a "date completed" beside each job as it is finished. The Youth will be working on some of these projects--as you can see the list is extensive and more than they can accomplish without your help.

Work has already begun and some rooms are already finished. Check out the list on the door. Our goal is to complete these jobs by Easter!! The list looks long but together we can complete it. Many hands make light work. Any questions contact Pearl Jones at 843-766-4262.

Voices Needed!

Starting the first Wednesday in March, the St. Andrew's Adult choir will be working on music for the Holy week/Easter services. We can use voices of all shapes, sizes and experiences. We are especially in need of male voices. Any adult or high school student is welcome to join us. Come try out for the four Wednesdays in March(7Th, 14Th, 21st, and 28Th) at 7:30 pm in the sanctuary. Rehearsals generally last about an hour and we always have a great time! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Mandy Keathley at 843-364-7815.

Covenant

This week focus on making do with less. Together read Joel 2:12-13. Then make a promise to give up something or do something for others during Lent.

But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His Covenant which He swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

Deuteronomy 8:18
